The kennel breeds only "black" Newfoundlands and has only 3-5 litters a year. There is normally a waiting list for puppies. Soundness, temperament, and movement are especially treasured in Cypress Bay dogs. Pedigree's are worked out on paper and computer before the actual breeding to attempt to find the best mate for each dam. OFA hips and elbows, clear hearts and cystinuria free matings are attempted.

New Homes for Puppies
"Puppy parents" are carefully screened to provide the best possible homes for our puppies. The puppies are born in our house and are carefully nurtured, handled and loved until it is time for them to become part of another family. Fenced yards, commitment to the breed and a loving family are essential for new parents

Health Checks
Puppies are Veterinarian checked for overall health and then rechecked by a Board Certified Cardiologist to ensure hearts are clear at 9 weeks. No puppy is allowed to go to a new home until these test have been completed. New owners are encouraged to take puppies to their Vet within 72 hours.

Cypress Bay dogs can be seen in the show ring, at water tests, obedience trials, drafting tests, in  hospitals serving the sick as therapy dogs, and of course in the homes of loving families.
